Who We Are
The Proletariat story
Proletariat Inc. was founded in 2012 by a group of game-industry veterans from Harmonix, Turbine, and Insomniac who were hell-bent on pushing the boundaries of multiplayer games while demanding a level of quality unheard of for a small studio.
Our first major title, World Zombination, debuted in early 2015 as a coveted “Editor’s Choice” on the iOS App Store. On its way to attracting 4+ million players across the world, it went on to be named to Apple’s “Best of 2015” list and developed a reputation for AAA quality and depth to the mobile MMO landscape.
After developing a passion for live streaming as part of our transparent development process—including weekly progress updates, live development streams, and hundreds of let’s plays—we set our sights on an ambitious goal: to build the best live stream game experience in the industry. Our efforts to push the limits in this relatively new space led us to create the Stream First genre of games and two distinct, but symbiotic new products: Streamline, a fast-paced arena game with full live stream integration, and Streamote, a backend and website that enables viewers to interact with their favorite broadcasters and control what's on screen. Most recently, we created an RPG called StreamLegends, a Twitch extension that lets channel communities quest and build guilds together.
Today, we continue to work toward our studio's mission to deliver groundbreaking multiplayer titles focused on outstanding audience-first experiences. Our next AAA-quality game built on these principles is currently in development and we can't wait to share it with our community and the world.
What we believe in
There is nothing more important to what we do than the people who play our games–our community. Regardless of whether they’re our most hardcore fans or totally new to our audience, the players are the reason we make games and they form the axis around which our product design occurs. Whether it’s taking a transparent approach to game development, live streaming our work (and play!), pro-actively soliciting feedback, or committing to provide the industry’s best player support experience, it’s the ongoing conversation and relationship we have with our audience that makes what we make, great. In other words: we do all of this for you and we couldn’t do any of this without you.
Enough is never enough. We relentlessly challenge expectations and embrace discomfort because it means we never stop growing. We don’t shy away from an opportunity simply because it’s difficult. Our team chases novel challenges, is constantly curious about the next major innovation and won’t stop pushing to create better games, technologies, communities—and, ultimately, a better studio. We strive every day to create experiences that elevate our craft, push the industry forward, and delight our players.
We have a “leave it better than you found it” philosophy. In order for our products to stand above the competition, every one of our exceptional team members has to have ownership over what they do. With ownership comes responsibility. Everyone is responsible for their own work, both the process and the outcome. Every interaction within the team, with the player community, and with the broader industry as a whole, reflects our desire to excel and improve upon what we’ve done in the past. The end results are deep, polished titles that can stand among the best-of-the-best in the industry.

We're all in this together. We love making and playing games. We love what we build, our team, players, and the industry. Loving what we do is important to us, and it allows us to be objective in our processes, uncompromising in self-evaluation, and to care deeply about the success of each and every member of the studio as we create great things together.
